The holiday season is here!!!!  

That can be good and bad!  So many things to do and so little time!

 It is the time of year when we all love to decorate. We pull out boxes and boxes of decorations that we have collected over the years. If you are like most people, you have some storage boxes with items that you do not put out yet cannot bear to part with because…one;  you paid good money for them and two;  they still look fairly nice so you might get around to using them again. I never did though.  I used to bring them out of storage then pack them right back up again!  Finally it occurred to me that the basics were still there so why should I go out and spend $50, $60, or even $100 on a new wreath when I could just change the ribbon, add some shiny new glass ornaments and I could get a whole new look for a minimal amount of money compared to the original expenditure. This was easy for me because I work with theses materials on a daily basis.

We encourage this all of the time in the floral department. Most people seemed surprised that this is possible and are genuinely pleased when they see their original decoration revitalized and are doubly pleased that it was cost effective. We do this with wreaths, arrangements, and memorial pieces for loved ones in cemeteries.  This not only feels good because you have made something old new again but you are actually going green. We ALL know how important this has become to the health of our earth. Save those resources!
